Two of our newest Frog Schools lit up the town last week at the Christmas lights switch-on in Wednesbury. Albert Pritchard Infants School, and Wood Green Junior School, had the honour of being part of the Christmas festivities in the town centre.
Not only did pupils help with the big switch-on, they also treated the audience to some classic Christmas hymns.
Things were a bit different backstage though. There were no hymn sheets in sight, no heavy books to carry home and no excuses for forgotten words. Instead, the school uploaded all of the music and lyrics into FrogLearn. Pupils were able to listen and practice their lines at home, which also gave parents the chance to get involved and sing along with them.
As a result of this success, the school have done something similar for the Christmas play. Pupils can access all the scripts, music and lyrics through FrogLearn.
We spoke to Craig Lowe, ICT Network Manager for the schools: “I’m thrilled, it only took me 10 minutes to upload all of the scripts for all eight classes, which I would never have been able to do before. It’s saved me so much time. Usually I’d have to print out all of the different scripts for the plays and hymns sheets for each student. It’s saved us a small fortune on our stationary and printing costs. I couldn’t be happier.”
Have you used FrogLearn in any creative ways this Christmas? If so, let us know and we’ll get you on this blog.
